Teen Creator from Anantnag Uses Digital Media to Promote Kashmiri Language

Srinagar, Jan 27:
A young voice from south Kashmir is quietly making a meaningful impact online. Faisal Ayoub Bhat, a 15-year-old student from Irote Damjan village in Anantnag district, is using digital platforms to revive and promote the Kashmiri language among the younger generation.
Currently studying in Class 10, Faisal began exploring content creation in 2020, initially uploading gaming videos. Over time, he experimented with various formats such as comedy skits, vlogs, and entertainment content. In this phase, he managed and experimented with more than 15 different channels, but none truly reflected his inner purpose.
In August 2025, Faisal decided to start afresh—this time with clarity, commitment, and a clear cultural mission. This led to the creation of “Faisal Speakz,” a platform dedicated primarily to content in the Kashmiri language.
For Faisal, Kashmiri is more than a means of communication—it is a symbol of identity. “Kasher zabaan che saanie pehchaan,” he says, emphasizing that language carries the soul of a culture. Observing the lack of meaningful Kashmiri-language content online, he felt a strong responsibility to contribute and create space for his mother tongue in the digital world.
Through his videos, Faisal aims to inspire Kashmiri youth to speak their language confidently, stay connected to their cultural roots, and take pride in their heritage. His work reflects a growing movement among young creators who see digital media as a tool not just for entertainment, but for cultural preservation.
Driven by sincerity and passion, Faisal hopes his efforts will motivate others to protect and promote the Kashmiri language, ensuring it remains alive and relevant for generations to come.
